Half asleep!

Sleep - IE

The lie in didn’t go so good, if you could see me now, eyes hanging out of my head and hair like I have been dragged through a bush backwards, you would instantly know, there was no lie in! Normally its either the next door neighbours hens clucking and clacking as they try to squeeze an egg out of their arse, or the dog telling them to get the feck up it needs off it’s leash. This morning it was the fathership who was the traitor and decided to mow the lawn at just after 9 in the morning. Seriously old man, have you nothing better to do, like helping the next door neighbours menagerie sort their shit out. Serves me right for going to bed at stupid o’clock anyway!

I’ve been thinking a lot about my blogs recently. It’s funny, but I liked the idea of the May Dupp one because she was a fictional charter, which gave me the freedom to write whatever I wished. I never thought, at the time, that it would be like writing stories, you still have to think of a beginning, a middle and an end. I thought I would (in my head) assume the character of May and it would all come naturally. I’m still enjoying the challenge tho and intend to keep her going for as long as I can.

Yesterday however, in a fit of madness I started a Twitter account for her. Now I have to say I am not the best at Twitter, but I like the idea of being her and causing some havoc, it will probably give me the balls to comment on things I normally never would have, and the fact that she is fictional gives me the freedom of free speech, within reason of course. I intend to have a little fun with her, so follow at your own risk and prepare for cheekiness and naughtiness. To connect with her follow @maydupp.

Sometime over the coming week I hope to get my drawings done for the Cartoon Craziness Challenge. I have a few ideas, and it will be interesting to see if I can transfer them onto paper, they are either going to make you laugh or cry. The most current version of the challenge is C³ – Week Nine. I know I have not updated the main page ^ there yet, but I will at some stage over this weekend.

Ok time to get moving, there is housework to be done and I have decided that for lunch I am going to have a bowl of ice cream, chocolate sauce, toasted almonds and flake! I am on my holidays after all, even if it is just for a few days.

C³ – Week Nine!

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Banner

Well would you look at that! I managed the baby 3, thank you very much to Mr Surf Report himself Rob who had the smarts to give it to me in the simplest language possible meaning that I was eventually able to do it. The fact that it took a few thousand goes is neither here nor there.

Now before we get to the matter at hand, which,  as can be quite clearly seen from the banner is the Cartoon Craziness Challenge, I need to tell you people that I am excited. If you’ve followed me for a while you will know that I am a woman who likes her music. This past year when I was doing anything on the computer and wanted background music my go to album of choice was Alt-J An Awesome Wave, and in just 7 days time they are releasing a new album called “This is all yours”. If you have never heard of Alt-J check out the song Hunger on the Pine on Youtube, although if you’re squeamish I wouldn’t watch the video :)

Ok back to the challenge, the last one was ‘Build a Burger’, and it would seem out of the usual crew that I was the only one who didn’t actually build a burger, and it was my fecking idea too, how bad am I. These amazing people however, did rustle up some treats:

Thank you to you all, and if you’re looking at this little post in disgust because I missed your name, feel free to let me know by giving me a boot up the backside!

So what have we in store for your this fortnight. I have had a few ideas submitted, however this one was suggested by at least two people, so the theme for this weeks C³ is ‘Fictional Characters‘. I could explain what I mean, but why would I try when the lovely Pat from Write up the Spine does it much more elegantly:

Since it’s back to school/end of summer yadda yadda …. perhaps a Bookish theme — like you’re favorite fictional character – rewritten or drawn with a twist, perhaps their evil side, or most contrite version, depending on the original?

So if you have ever read a book but disagreed with how the artists impression turned out, you now have a chance to write the wrongs by drawing or doodling your own version.

More rules and information can be found on the Cartoon Craziness Page and you have until the 28th September 2014 to complete this challenge.

On your marks, get set, doodle!!

Here’s the Bizz!

Good evening eejits, remember me?! Yep I am the person who owns this blog and occasionally stops by to say hello, albeit not nearly as often as she should.

This last while I’ve been on a Rollercoaster and several times have thrown my legs overs the side and my feet onto the track, sadly though it would seem that the soles on my boots have worn away as nothing seems to slow me down. Good job my knickers are reinforced, this is a scary ride!!

I’m only a little human being, in the big wide world and I’m wondering how far I can stretch myself before I snap. My resolve has been sorely tested just this weekend alone, but it’s Sunday night and tomorrow is a new day at the start of a new week.

I’ve lacked ideas for things to write about of late, I even kept an eye on the Daily Prompts to see if they were the kick up the arse I required, unfortunately, they were more WTF than WOW! Daily Prompt 1 – Indecisive Eejits Brain – 0, and we’re back again to the lament regarding the not very bright pixie in the forest.

I haven’t drawn for my challenge and it does not look like I will before the closing date, which is ummm today. So tomorrow I will put up a new one and hope that you all forgive me for my indiscretion this time. There is a possibility though that I will change the challenge from weekly to fortnightly, but nothing has been decided yet. You’re still welcome to submit ideas for things you would like to draw, we consider everything because Mama and I believe that a million heads are better than one!

In other news, the job ticks along. The past week was hectic and I struggled  to keep up, but I am finding that some things are getting easier, so given time I am hoping I will be ok. I’ve a few days booked off for not this week but next, the first days off I have had in over 2 months. I can’t wait, but it is marred by not knowing how things are going to be at home, because sometimes believe me, it is better to be in work.

I’m going to try and be little more proactive around here, by forcing myself to sit down and write. There is nothing like giving yourself a good slap to get things done, ultimately it’s not as satisfying as slapping the shit out of someone who it annoying your head, but there less chance of being arrested.

One last thing before I go, I’m not sure what the cause was, but I’ve had a new spate of followers in the last couple of weeks. So to all of you, thank you, pull up a chair and make yourself comfortable, there is a varied mix of wonderful people who sit around this table and you are a welcome addition, just make yourself heard.

Till next time :)

Cartoon Craziness Challenge – Week 6

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Banner

Good evening …. hmm what shall I call you all, it would be unfair to call you eejits as the Cartoon Craziness Challenge is a collaboration between myself and Mental Mama…hmmm…M…ok let me start again.

Good evening meejits, (see what I did there, good right!?) it is that time of the week again, and by that I mean time for another exciting installment of doodling disasters, speaking for myself of course!

This week 10 amazing people showed us in a variety of ways what ‘Happiness’ meant to them, I’ll add links at the bottom, should you have missed any entries.

This week, the theme for the challenge as suggested by the lovely Deborah from Container Chronicles is ‘Memories of a Childhood Vacation‘. Ever since she suggested it I’ve been turning ideas over in my head, I even put pen to paper at one stage but drawing a pictures of yourself getting stung on the arse by a bee is not as easy as it sounds!

You have until Sunday to complete this mission, should you chose to accept it! The only requirement is that you create a link back to this post when making your own, this in turn creates a pingback, which in turn alerts me to the presence of your drawing, how simple is that!

Entires for the current week will be updated as they come in (ish) and you can find them up there ^ on the Cartoon Craziness Challenge Page!

Happy Drawing Meejits :)

Cartoon Craziness Challenge – Week 5

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Banner

I almost forgot what week we were on there, I mean come on, it’s been over a month already….feels like only yesterday!

Last week finished on a high, Rob finally managed to put in his Superhero Entry which was pretty awesome, and also managed to tag in an entry to this weeks as well!  We even managed to get Jed on board, so adding him to all the other adorable eejits who played the week before it was all in all a great week for the theme Kids and Pets. I will add a list to all of last weeks entries at the bottom of this post, they are well worth a look!

This weeks theme is….drum roll……”Happiness” as suggested by the lovely Somber Scribbler. What makes you happy, or what does happiness look like to you? It could be something as simple as your favourite food, where this week is concerned you pretty much have a blank canvas. I’m kinda half expecting a picture drawn in nail polish….you know who you are!

We’re open to suggestions for theme ideas if you have any, so please feel free to let us know via any of the usual channels….although perhaps not carrier pigeon, we have found them to be flighty and unreliable in the past!

As always you have until Sunday to complete this challenge. For more information check out the Cartoon Craziness Challenge page from the links at the top of my blog. There, if you would like to check back periodically is where you will also find a list of the current entries for the week.

Happy drawing eejits, Mama and I cannot wait to see your endeavors :)

Too many balls, not a lot of juggling!

keep-calm-images-4

There has been very little free time this past week. Every time I sat down to write something all the ideas I had went flooding out instead of flooding in.

I feel a little bit over whelmed, this last month or so has been crazy busy and I always feel like I am in a higher than normal state of stress, visitors, new job, organising, planning, shopping, cooking, cleaning, washing and ironing, if this were a merry go round I would already have jumped by now.

I suppose the main factor behind the whole thing is that everything happened all at once. I don’t feel settled at work and that appears to be having a domino effect on everything else. No matter how home life was, work was always a constant, I knew my job, I could do my job and I happily worked away in the background. The new job is a little more in the fore front and last week I felt like a tennis player in front of one of those machines that serves the ball at a million miles an hour, only it had gone haywire and there were balls being fired at me all roads and directions. It would appear I am a shit juggler!

I’ve said over and over this week that I am not cut out for this job, and I firmly believe that. I am a terrible decision maker, I dither and I lose valuable hours and minutes checking and double checking myself and then still worrying about the finer points. I know I am new in the job, and I know the chances are it will get better, or let me rephrase that, I will get better, but this period in between stupid and smart is knocking lumps out of my already battered self confidence. I hate not knowing what I am doing, it feels like failure is smacking me repeatedly about the face.

I would love just one weekend where I didn’t have to worry about anyone else but myself. Thing is though, despite what I say I would still worry. I’d love for other people in my house to realise that they can lift things off the floor, wipe benches, clean up talcum powder that clearly threw itself all over the bathroom and perhaps even put a wash on sometimes. My Dad is good at helping but sometimes it’s the small things that irk the most.

I’m tired, because sometimes my brain will not shut down enough to enable me to relax, which means I stay up until stupid o’clock to make sure that I actually sleep when my head hits the pillow. Dad’s been having the same issues, I hear him pacing the floors as well. He probably needs a break more than me.

I know things in work will even out and I will become more settled, but this was one of the reasons why if I had been given the choice of taking the job, I would probably have refused. I just don’t need the additional stress right now, there is no where to escape from it. Thank goodness for this blog and you guys.

So my mantra for this week is don’t stress the small things, try to make decisions and have faith that there is light at the end of the tunnel and remember if all else fails I can always hide under the desk until Friday! :)

Look out for the new Cartoon Craziness Challenge theme tomorrow eejits and thank you for all your participation so far!

P.s I’m ok honest, I just needed to vent, look I feel better already, I’m smilin!

Cartoon Craziness Challenge – Kids and Pets

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Banner

I like the idea that my 300th post on this blog is going to be one for the Cartoon Craziness Challenge, it has given myself and others a lot of fun and helped to prise out the inner artist in us all.

This weeks theme was kids and pets. Now when it was first suggested I was a little perturbed to say the least owing to the fact that I have neither kids or pets, so I had to get creative and think of ways to make it fit, so here goes.

The first of my pets would be ‘The Punk Penguin’. I have no idea why he / she is a punk, I just like the addition of a little bad ass and a more colourful body than the normal black and white. I’m thinking tartan for the chest area and the little lock of hair is of course pink!

The Punk Penguin033

The second pet would be ‘The Cheeky Monkey’ because I can be cheeky at times and I like monkeying around. Ignore the fact that his wee face looks like every animal under the sun except a monkey, I had nothing for reference!

The Cheeky Monkey035

Last but not least I figured that as I run this competition along with the Mental one, it seems only fitting that I give 100% participation, so please meet my imaginary child, ‘The Ginger Whinger’. Seriously dude, look at the picture, no other explanation is required!

The Ginger Whinger034

There is still one day left if you would like to join in with this weeks challenge. All the information along with all the current entries for this week can be seen on the Cartoon Craziness Challenge page at the top, or if you are lazy it’s HERE!

Cartoon Craziness Challenge – Superhero!

As with all things this week I am pretty much late to my own party! My business partner in Cartoon Craziness has even got there before me, but better late than never, here is my entry for Cartoon Craziness Challenge – Superhero!

Phantom Farter

Sue me, I find all things bottom burp related kinda funny, so my Superhero is called the Phantom Farter! She has a utility belt to help her out in all kinds of situations as well as wings that can waft as well as fly! My character in GTA has a black bob style haircut and no one gives her shit, so I figured PF should have the same.

Who would you be as a Superhero, or who is your favorite Superhero, tell us in a doodle and join the fun. For more information, click HERE!

Cartoon Craziness Challenge – Week 3

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Banner

It’s hard to believe we are on Week 3 of our challenge already. Mama and I cannot thank you enough for joining in and making this so much fun for us all.

That said, we do still need some feedback on how you feel we are doing so far and ideas for themes you would like to see in the coming weeks, your suggestions are always welcome. If you have spare time, please head on over to Mama’s CCC page here and fill in the little form.

What does this week hold for us I hear you ask, and that is indeed a good question, and one that my good friend Here There Be Spiders e-mailed to me less than an hour ago. To be fair it didn’t take Mama and I long to come up with this weeks theme, Mama suggested it, I liked it, added a tweak and here it is, this weeks theme is Superhero. Now before you all panic, let me expand on that just a little, it can be your favourite Superhero or fictional character, it could also be who you would be as a Superhero. Remember there are no hard and fast rules, it’s your interpretation and it’s also just for fun!!

You have until Sunday to complete your masterpieces. Remember to add a pingback to this weeks Challenge, i.e. this post!

For further information you can check out the Cartoon Craziness Challenge page from the top links.

Looking forward to seeing what you can all come up with!

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Update!

Cartoon Craziness Challenge Banner

It’s almost the end of the week, which means you only have one day left to submit your pictures for the weirdness and wackiness that is ‘The Cartoon Craziness Challenge’.

Mental Mama and I have both created pages on our blogs dedicated to the challenge as we each have our own sets of followers, although some are shared.

My page currently has information about the challenge and the information for this weeks along with entries so far. Mama’s is pretty much the same, however for this week and the purposes of this post, hers is WAY more important than mine.

She’s devised a great little feedback form, because while we know you are enjoying things so far, we would still value your input with regard to future challenges etc. If you’ve liked the idea, but not yet been brave enough to join us, then please let us know what you would like to see that might just make you change your mind.

You can find Mental Mama’s page HERE and we would be really grateful if you could spare us just 5 minutes of your time to let us know your thoughts.

There have been some amazing entires this week, and in case you are to lazy to go searching for the original post, (hence the reason why they are now on the page), here is a list of the entries so far:
