(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

This weeks questions, and my answers:

1. I’m addicted to? – Storm Clouds Gathering – America History X Soundtrack by Anne Dudley – Now there are two ways you could look that this. If we’re talking about the storm clouds in the sky, then yes I do like that and to watch them, although I am not such a big fan of thunder and lightening. If however you are talking about storm clouds gathering before an argument or some kind of altercation then no, I’ll steer well clear thank you. If you’re talking about storm clouds gathering in the undergarments then you know I have had one to many Brussel sprouts!

2. I wish I didn’t? – Young, Single and Sexy by Rita Ora – I have no need to wish that I didn’t at least two of these. I am just slightly on the wrong side of 40 to be classed as young anymore. I am not sexy in any shape form or fashion. I am however single and yes, sometimes I wish I wasn’t, but that’s life!

3. I would love to? – Lego House by Ed Sheeran – When things get tough here, I do wish I had a house, somewhere I could go and just clear my head. A lego house would be pretty amazing wouldn’t it, you could just tear it down and rebuild it as and when you wished. You could remodel every other week. No need for paint, just change the colour of your bricks….hey Jed, I think I feel a what if post coming on? lol

If you would like to give Steve’s quiz a try, just follow the links. What are you waiting for??? …well……..c’mon, scoot!

This Weeks Questions and Answers

How was your day?Busy Guy by Hans Zimmerman, The Holiday Soundtrack – I had a quick look there and thankfully all my lady bits are in order, so now we have established that I am not a guy, I can confirm that I was indeed busy today. My boss is off at the minute, so I am trying to get some of the lengthier tasks done. I’ve worked at this one for about 3 days and I am almost done. A small sense of achievement…..I think so :)

What do you want to achieve this week?By your side by Lifehouse – I’ve decided I am never going to be by anyones side, apart from my friends and family that is. Love doesn’t exist, it just makes you embarrass yourself and happy endings are something you get for an extra five bucks at a massage parlour, or so I’ve been told.

Do you enjoy your job?Only if… by Enya – I was curious as to what the answer to this question would be. Pretty good really. I enjoy my job only if I can make cups of coffee, smile, laugh and hopefully make others smile and laugh. Only if I can go home at five o’clock preferably feeling like I have accomplished something. Only if they keep paying my wages, in exchange for my promise to work as hard as I can. Only if I can cherish the two days of my weekend before I go back on a Monday and only if people promise not to ask me how my weekend was if I have a face like a bulldog sucking a wasp as that usually means it didn’t go so well. Only if I still have a job to enjoy……….

What does the Comic Musicology Test say about you….only one way you’ll find out…..get on it like a car bonnet!

P.s Steve, thanks to one of your posts I purchased Sia – 1000 Forms of Fear, I’m loving the song Fair Game, although it has not yet trumped Hunger of the Pine (Alt-J)for most listened to.

Cosmic Musicology Test – Hooray Hooray

One of Steve’s Golden Balls!

I stole Steve’s big golden ball, rolling it down the road was a bit of a nightmare, but I made it home and I don’t think anyone saw me. It’ll be interesting to see how long it takes him to notice. This can only mean one thing, yes indeed, it’s a new edition of his Cosmic Musicology Test.

A refresher of the rules:

For each test Steve will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle

This weeks questions: (oh and my answers):

1. Christmas or New Year?Angel sung by Andrea Begley – That’s got to be Christmas then, because that is what Angels remind me of. New Year is more of an angle, as in the angles you have to get yourself into to either receive or duck the New Year advances of the drunk men wearing beer goggles!

2. Halloween or Fireworks Night?Barbara Streisand by Duck Sauce – I don’t really get the difference between these two. I guess here Fireworks night is not such a big deal and both are really just an excuse to get your bangers out…..or is it sparklers. Regardless, I’m picking Halloween, a party in full blast, this song at full volume, and some random drunk in the corner snoggin a pumpkin, what could be better…Just for clarification I have no experience of this, honest!

3. Summer or Winter? – Paradise by Coldplay – The name of the song would suggest it would be summer right? Long sandy beaches, clear blue seas and plenty of sunshine. For me paradise is a cold night where you are warm inside and can hear the rain and wind batter the windows. All snug and wrapped up, cup of coffee in hand and a good DVD to watch. One condition tho, there must be no ice or snow to be seen :)

Now it’s up to you, if you too would like a shot at Steve’s golden ball, feel free to add your own answers into the mix. You can find all the information you require HERE!

Cosmic Musicology Test – Comin at ya early!

Steve New Music Challenge

Woo hoo, it’s all very exciting, the Cosmic Captain himself, Steve from Steve Says, is for one week only letting me host his brilliant quiz the Cosmic Musicology Test. Why, I hear you ask yourselves, well because he can’t be bothered thinks I am brilliant is the answer. He’s set the bar high, I have to prove my worth and meet targets, so you’re more than welcome to join in any week, but especially this week to prove to him I am worth my shot in the spot light.

For anyone who has not played the challenge before, here is a refresher of the instructions:

For each test the host will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play

If you’d like to host one in the future, get in tough with Steve and beg, he’ll give in eventually :)

On to this weeks questions and my answers:

1. I think I am? – Team by Lorde – I do think I am a team, especially here. It’s like a family and I would have nothing if it were not for my followers, many of whom have become friends. Team Eejit, I like that, you in?

2. You think I am?Freedom by the Housemartins – Do you think I’m freedom from the housework and the chores, from the nagging voice of your boss, from the laundry and anything else that ties you up. Am I 5 minutes of putting your feet up and reading a load of oul tripe? If I am, that’s fine by me :)

3. We should be?Ticks & Leeches by Tool – Ah ffs, there is always one isn’t there. Hmmm ok, we’re ticks because for some people we tick all the right boxes and for others not so many. Do what you do, you will never please everyone. We’re leeches because every day we learn and  suck in the knowledge of our friends and fellow bloggers and you know what, that’s fine, as long as it makes us more Ticks than Leeches!

Go on, give the quiz a try, you know you want to!!

Cosmic Musicology Test: This or that….

Steve Says
Wow, that’s so cosmic man!

It’s wake up week for super Steve’s Cosmic Musicology Test, woohoo and this week as an additional bonus he is offering anyone who is interested a chance to host the quiz for a week. I’m all for that…note to self, remember to tell him. Please remember if you are completing the quiz you must link back to Steve’s original post, which for this week, you can find HERE! This is his quiz, not mine.

This weeks questions and my answers:

1. Beer or wine?(Interlude 3) by Alt-J – Some people may indeed use an interlude to peel themselves off the sofa and head to the fridge for more beer or wine. Me, well I’m pretty much a non drinker, but I’ll have that bag of nibbles you have in your other hand :)

2. Sweet or Savoury?Freedom by Paloma Faith – Oh I like this answer, doesn’t that pretty much give me carte blanche to stuff my fat little face with anything I damn well please. Sweet, savoury….ah just give me one of everything!

Chipmunk Cheeks

3. Morning or evening?Storms in Africa by Enya – Who cares ffs, we’re talking storms in Africa, anytime would be a good time, nuff said!

Steve New Music Challenge

All I actually want to do is sit and write a huge rant about work, but I have decided that’s not a good idea for the following reasons:

  • Nothing is going to change, I still have to go back tomorrow.
  • My boss might read it at sometime if someone lets slip this is my blog.
  • If I spontaneously combust in the middle of the night I would hate for people to remember me as the bitter bitch whose last post ever was rant about her place of employment.

I decided I would do the Cosmic Musicology Test instead, because I have missed Steve and his weird mind bending via music ways.

For those who are unsure how this works, here is a little refresher of the rules as laid out by Captain Cosmic himself.

For each test Steve will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

This weeks questions:

What makes me laugh?Roseta Stoned by Tool – I’ve never been stoned as in, hey am I the only person can see those pixies in the forest kinda stoned, and I am pretty sure I don’t ever want to experience the, holy feck is that a brick heading for my specs kinda stoned. So I will have to say Shady introduced me to the band Tool, and sometimes he can be a tool, which makes me laugh. See how it all works out in the end.

What makes me cry? – Freedom by the Housemartins  – The thought of freedom does actually make me shed a tear, freedom from a lot of things, but currently about running for the hills and not stopping.

What makes me mad? – Fragile – Frankie & The Heartstrings – Lately with my head all over the place, my feelings of fragility have actually made me feel mad. At the minute it seems like nothing is certain and nothing is stable. I want to go back to the sure footed mountain goat days of my youth.

Over to you, what answers will Captain Cosmic squeeze out of you?

The time is near….

keep-calm-we-re-nearly-there

The last couple of days I’ve been working on my idea for my fictional character. I have a name, a banner and half of the first post done, so hopefully before too long you will be able to see it for yourselves.

I have a few people to thank though, without whom I would not have been able to get this random and probably ridiculous idea off the ground.

Lee from Geeky and Freaky who no matter how random my ideas are always supports and encourages me.

Paul from Nugs 321 who slags me off, but still manages to help with all my banner woes as he does. I find the pictures and he brings it all together with awesome text and details. If you need a new banner he can be contacted via his Facebook page HERE. He’s not too much of a diva and charges reasonable rates, unless like me you’re one of his best friends and he owes you a few favours! Ladies, he’s available and will offer discount if you flirt. Gentlemen, I don’t think that will work for you to be honest, but you’re welcome to try.

I had put out a request on my last post to see if anyone had some ideas for a name for this new creation of mine. I wanted to make sure that no one was in any doubt this was a fictional character so I was essentially looking for a name to reflect that. I had a couple of good suggestions, especially Belinda Loggins (Bloggins) from El Guapo and Fictitious Franz from Green Embers. However there was one, that for me stood out above all the rest because it perfectly summed up what I was trying to do. Steve from Steve Says.. came up with ‘May Dupp’, so simple yet so effective and it is the one I have chosen to use! Thanks to you all for your assistance and participation, and well done Steve :)

I spoke to Udders on Thursday too and informed her that there was a chance she would be my sidekick in a few posts. I challenged her to come up with a name for herself. After many colourul and some explicit suggestions which I had to reject on the basis that I like the G ish rating my blog has, she settled on the name Onda, as in Onda Pull. I may have rolled my eyes, but I also laughed.

So all the posts for the fictional May Dupp will have their own banner and there will be a new category for her also.

I can only wish that my life was as fabulous and exciting as hers will hopefully be….fingers crossed!
