This Weeks Questions

1. If I ruled the World?Hurt U by Dusted – I wouldn’t want to hurt anyone. If I ruled the world I’d want to stop all the pain and fighting, a task which seems impossible. I would make people pay for their misdemeanors, but as it’s hard to imagine a world without crime I would have to devise a rather clever and flawless penal system. All I can think right now is, am I ever glad I don’t rule the world!!

2. If only I could? – Freshy by Will.I.am – I’d love to feel all freshy and alive every morning on waking up. Sadly for me it’s more like, WTF!? Shut that alarm clock up before it flies through the air to meet Mr Wall!

3. If I had a million dollars? Telephone and Rubber Band by The Penguin Cafe Orchestra – Whilst initially I looked at this and thought how random, for me it’s actually pretty spot on. I have a fetish for stationary and I love mobile phones, so were I to have a million dollars in my possession I might indeed buy a telephone and a rubber band. By the way if you have never heard of the band, well they are more of an orchestra, check them out. Brilliant easy listening!

What if we could weather our moods?

The Indecisive Eejit's avatarOkay, What if ?

4 emoticons There are apps for many things and emoticons to capture almost every situation we encounter. In text messages they help us to gauge the mood of the sender, whether it be a thumbs up, smiley face, confused look or tears. There is something for everything and if not, there is always adaptation.

But what if you were able to display your mood with the use of the weather, in almost the same way the weather has a similar effect on you.

This week I have heard a lot of people remarking how great it is to see the lighter nights returning, This along with the little bit of dry weather we have had, has left them feeling energized and raring to go. Those people, in my head, were proudly sporting a little sunshine symbol and infecting everyone they passed with  good cheer.

In fact, let me make it really simple…

Let’s try this!

I may have found a solution to my lack of time problem with regards to blogging, and yes I know that right now GTA V is a major factor, but I’m having fun, there’s no crime in that is there? Unlike the game, there is plenty of crime in it, rather a lot of it committed by me!

The simple solution, which I have to add is not tried and tested, due to the fact I only thought about it 5 minutes ago, would be to blog at lunchtime. By this I mean take myself away from my desk and actually concentrate on what it is I wish to write. I have made half hearted attempts before, but found endless distractions in the shape of the never ending knocking door, being unable to reach the keyboard, due to the fact it was obscured by my lunch plate and the constant yakking of the Tinsel Twit, hindered me in my pursuit of the perfect post.

I have also found in recent experiences that there is no such thing as a quick post, unless of course it’s a picture or an update as to the current status of my day in the form of “So far the day’s been dead on hey!”.

I constantly have to proof read and correct my writing, because I am certainly no Queen of Grammar. I also have to keep myself in check, as I have been known to and in fact often times still do vary from my original subject matter. In fact there have been times when the ending has been the polar opposite from the beginning. I like to keep things varied and interesting translates into I’ve totally lost my train of thought, it is what it is.

My biggest problem right now has to be subject matter, or at present, the lack of. My little ideas are like bubbles that pop before they can take root, they are fabulous at the time, float around for a while and then disappear into the nothing, never to be seen again. One of the problems of getting on a bit is that the brain cells that control idea retention obviously do not perform with the same gusto that they once did. Where am I? What day is it? What did I come in here for?

I suppose the only way to find out if this is a feasible idea would be to put it into practice and see what happens. Now the better weather is starting to filter in, I need to thrown the laptop in the rucksack and get busy.

It may mean for a while you get a variety of posts about anything and everything as I try sort the wheat from the chaff so to speak. My mind is a confusing place sometimes, even after all this time getting to know it, most days I feel like I am getting nowhere.

I hope to get back to my reading of blogs as well, I still do read, but have not been able to comment and like the way I would want to. I feel that since the last couple of updates to the WordPress App, not all posts are showing and I have had to individually visit blogs. It seems there are a lot I have missed and it may take a while to catch up.

Thank you so much to all my new followers, and thank you to those who have been with me all along. Your continued support is much appreciated and as I approach my one year anniversary, even though I am paddling through murky waters just now, I want to be around for a while longer, maybe to hopefully reach a two year anniversary. Only time will tell!

Grand Theft of my Senses!

grand-theft-auto-5
All this fuss over a bus shelter…WTF!!

I started playing GTA V, mainly because three of my bestest Xbox chums asked me too. I didn’t think I’d like it, but figured I would give it a shot anyway, there was nothing to lose. I tend to try games before I purchase them in order to check to see if I will or will not suffer motion sickness, but no one was relinquishing their copy so I dived straight in and purchased a cheap one from Ebay.Read More »

May Dupp: Brow Raising!

MayDupp Banner

Marina from the hairdressers feels I should no longer wear leggings due to the fact that my legs look like a pair of stuffed sausages and when I bend over I resemble a bicycle park. How do I know this? Because I was sitting on the other side of the partition when she decided to tell her rather bored looking client. Am I bothered? Not particularly, Marina has the kind of face that only a Mother could love and a voice like a foghorn, so all in all my bicycle park backside isn’t so bad. She also had the complexion of a beetroot when she walked around the corner and saw me sitting there with one of my recently waxed eyebrows raised. Stuffed sausages indeed!Read More »

Unsociable Interaction!

Whilst traveling home on the train tonight a friend remarked about how the simple art of conversation has died out and everyone seems to be on some kind of mobile device or other. I could only hang my head in shame, as I am one of those people!

What on earth did we do before mobile phones and technology? How did we amuse ourselves? It seems like such a long time ago, it’s hard to imagine a life without gadgets.Read More »

Steve’s Music Mix – Me, Myself & I

I missed last week, bad me! But in an effort to make amends I am doing the quiz on the day it is actually published, surely that has to win me some brownie points!

This Week’s Questions!

1. I feel Like? Hallucinations from the Tudors Soundtrack – I’m not actually sure I would like to experience Hallucinations, unless of course they were going to be much more exciting than real life. I suppose it would mean I always had someone to talk to though!

2. I want to? Satisfaction – Swedish House Mafia – Hmmm now that’s quite pertinent since Valentines Day has just passed. If I said that right now I can’t seem to get any satisfaction it would send your minds down the wrong path entirely so I’ll just skip on quickly!

3. I need to? Thousand Crazy Nights – Go Music Go – Oh I could so do with a Thousand Crazy Nights out on the town to blow of the cobwebs and make me feel that there is more to life than work, cooking and cleaning. Anyone up for a huge WordPress Party?

Check out Steve’s page using the links for more information and to throw in your two pence worth if so inclined!

Where I’ve been..

See I’d so love to tell you that I took a trip to the moon and back, or went on holiday to somewhere utterly fabulous and amazing. The truth is I was getting on with the daily grind of life and rediscovering my love for the Xbox and party chats!

During my recovery from the ruptured patellar tendon, I was on the Xbox every night chatting with friends and playing games, well lets face it, there are not a lot of other places you can go when you cannot walk.  When I went back to work, it slid a little, and then when I started blogging it pretty much got kicked to the curb all together.Read More »

Am I feeling Guilty?

Quotation-Alice-Caldwell-Rice-worry-Meetville-Quotes-182154

So I think I finally figured out what it is that has been bugging me and stalling my activity on the blog just a little. I feel guilty, go figure!

Anyone who knows me in real life can vouch for the fact I am a worrier. In fact it is one of the things I am well known for. At Christmas even the Fathership turned traitor and wrote in my card that he wished me a worry free 2014, we laughed about it afterwards because he realised that statement was a stupid as I did.

I worry about everything, and I mean e v e r y t h i n g. I am though,  getting better at trying to use coping strategies. They don’t always work, but for the 10 minutes I try,  it at least focuses my mind on something else.

I care a lot about what people think of me, I know I shouldn’t, because I don’t need approval from anyone else, but for some reason I still do. I would guess that deep down most of us are the same.

Throughout my time here, I have been amazed at the support I have received from others. There have been people who have been with me every step of the way, commenting on almost every post I have written. Of late, for one reason or another I have not had the same time to read, comment on and write posts. I have still been reading, but it’s usually a quick 5 minutes here or there when I can grab the time, meaning comments fall by the wayside. I still try to like everything I have read and erm liked, assuming WP is working correctly, the like button has been a little temperamental of late.

Commenting, when I do have the time, still causes me issues. I know you might find it hard to believe, but,  sometimes I am at a complete loss for words, so rather than make an ass of myself I say nothing at all. It does’t mean I like you or your post any less, it’s usually just that I am dumbstruck / awestruck or have nothing further to add to what you or your commenter’s have already said. The other reason is that I consider you to be smarter than the average bear, well this one anyway. In fact that accounts for pretty much 100% of the blogs I follow. Damn all you smart people!

So in an effort to help myself feel a little less guilty and to ease some of the worry I am writing this post by way of explanation and apology.

I am very grateful to every follower I have, and to every blog I follow for keeping me entertained. I am sorry that right now I can’t get to like and comment on everything, but you have to believe that I really wish I could. I don’t want anyone to ever think I am just not bothering, because that’s not the case. The truth is, I would be lost without all of you. You’re like my very own Newspaper, providing gossip, drama, comedy, cartoons, fortune telling via a Music Quiz and something far better than Dear Dierdre ever was in the shape of Mr Smithson. Anyone want to volunteer for Mr Page 3??

There are so many challenges I would also like to do, but time just gets away from me. I try to squeeze in as many as I can.

My worrying self knows realistically that no one probably notices or cares whether or not I do challenges, comment, like or read and that right now you are probably shaking your head and thinking what on earth is that stupid cow on about now, and you’d be right, but it was worrying me, so I had to get it out there, to get over it.

All these things are important to me, as are all of you, and I just needed to remind you of that!

What if we could make the world dance?

Another trip to the land of Okay, What if? Get following peeps :)

The Indecisive Eejit's avatarOkay, What if ?

I’ve been captivated by this show on Sky called ‘Ashley Banjo’s Big Town Dance’. For anyone who does not know who this particular gentleman is, well he’s the lead dancer and choreographer which a street dance crew called ‘Diversity’, he’s also rather cute, which certainly does not detract from the show’s likability.

In the show, his intention is to bring together a whole town through the power of dance. To form crews, he pulls people of various ages from a diverse range of occupations and sectors.

It’s been fun watching how all the people interact, especially those who never would have before, for example, pupils and teachers, eventually coming together as a unit to complete the task.

There is no doubt that music is a good mood influencer and there are few people who when presented with a good tune will not show some kind of appreciation, be it with…
