Dear Lovely Followers,

I’m sure you noticed, well some of you did anyways, that I recently changed my blog name.

While undertaking this humongous task it appears I may have fecked up broken my WordPress, meaning that you can no longer see my posts in your Reader.

Now I know for many of you this will cause great joy, but I am hoping there are maybe 2 or 3 of you who will perhaps miss me, so I wanted to let you know, that in order to rectify the problem it seems you might have to unfollow me and then follow me right back…immediately. Ok it doesn’t have to be that quick, I just want to make sure you don’t forget!

In Other News

The new challenge from Okay, What if? has been delivered and is in fact due by tomorrow, although I am sure he will be forgiving of stragglers, assuming he is again in possession of his soul.

Who am I?

Lee and Paul are irked with me, I know they are, but it’s not my fault. I’m still having a blog identity crisis!

I know when I asked this question before, most of you said that it does not matter what the name of your blog is, if the content is good.  Lee made a comment on the last post saying that it did not matter what I did because I would never be happy, and in all honestly he is probably right, I’m never happy with what I write and can’t really see how people get enjoyment from it. I am assuming however, that most bloggers feel the same, if not all the time then at least at some point.

I started this blog for a laugh, I didn’t in all honesty think I would stick at it, my track record is pretty rubbish where blogs are concerned. I had no clear idea of what I wanted to write, in fact I still don’t, but I know now from reading other blogs from people I would class as proper gamers, not casual ones like myself that I don’t feel I deserve to have the word gamer in my title. Now I am back to work full time after the ‘Alien Leg’ incident I don’t get the same time for gaming that I used to, in fact blogging has probably now filled that space.

So do I pigeon hole  myself by being called ‘The Geeky G4mer’? I have no idea, but I’ve already had to clarify the fact that I am a woman, so there could be some slight issues there. :)

Coming up with a new name however is a nightmare, I’d thought about Operation Eejit and that’s pretty much where it ended, after 5 minutes I had worn myself out.

I think what has surprised me the most is how much I am actually enjoying blogging, I love to entertain, I like to at least try and make people laugh, but in reality that is only a small part of the big picture. I’ve really enjoyed the interaction with others and meeting new people, blogging really does make it a small world. It’s made me smile on days when I thought there was no hope of turning the frown upside down.

So maybe that’s the point. I want to try and stick at this and see how it goes, so is my head telling me I need a more permanent name, or am I just being an arse like Paul and Lee say.

On a happier note, I reached 500 likes today. Thank you so much to all of you for reading and liking my posts, I could not have done it without you!! You lot are awesome and I’m really lucky to have met you all :)

Identity Crisis!

I’m having a bit of a blog identity crisis. I can see in my mind both Lee and Paul rolling their eyes and shaking their heads as they read this, because this is what I do best!

When I first stated this blog, The Geeky G4mer seemed like a good name. I am a little bit of a geek and also a little bit of a gamer, but I excel at neither. It was also my gamer tag, so it tied the whole thing  together.

So whats the problem? The honest answer is, there probably isn’t one, however my mind is a whiring dirvish that will just not let up. I don’t want to be defined as a hardcore gamer, because I will not be able to offer, exciting, informative reviews of new games. I will however sometimes occasionally offer, slightly inadequate but hopefully amusing accounts of the games I play.

As well as games I want to write about life in general and the normal day to day run of the mill things that I find funny.

I like making people smile, but it’s hard to transfer the witty one liners and quips from my head to the page without invoking the dreaded “You obviously had to be there.” 

So does the name of my blog define me as being just a gamer and therefore put off others, who in a different situation, might actually read my posts.

By the same token, does it also put off the other gamers, who have amazing blogs and actually know what they are talking about. Do they look at my  posts and go WTF and skip on by in utter disgust.

So now do you see my problem, that is probably not really a problem.

So my question for you all is, to name change or not? and if your answer  is yes do you have any suggestions?
