Sleep typing…

The past few days have been weird around blogsphere what with everything going on. I wanted to write yesterday, but the post was in pieces and I couldn’t quite manage to pull it together, so in the end I gave up and watched a few episodes of ‘Life Unexpected’ instead.

I also wanted to start work on a new What If? piece for Jed and his blog, but again I couldn’t get anything to stick. Any suggestions for me?

I’m sure it has not escaped your notice that despite my big girl bragging about changing my page and forcing it to grow up, there are little or no differences at all. Now, before you get all judgmental on me, it has NOTHING to do with me being lazy and EVERYTHING to do with me not being able to find a theme that I like as much as my current one. I tried each and every one in WordPress, on Saturday night, cos I’ve no social life thats just how I roll! In the end I gave up. I need more time to make an informed decision so that when I start the begging process with Paul regarding a new banner I know exactly what I am asking for! That said I have help on tap with regards to CSS cos my good friend from No Blog Intended passed her exam with flying colours! Well done young lady :)

This is only going to be a short post, I managed a 10 hours shift in work today, the first since I had my accident and do you know what, it felt good. The Diamond Dancer and I didn’t stop and I was amazed at how quickly the time went and the amount we were able to achieve in it.

I’d left dinner out for the olds with instructions on what to do. It seems they managed ok, apart from one phone call from the Fathership asking what number on the cooker the spuds had to be turned on to. It would appear however that unless something is able to go in the dishwasher neither of the ‘ships’ will touch it, meaning after arriving home at 9.45pm I had to start and wash the pots and pans and then prepare tomorrow nights dinner. Next time I go out, they can order in and I will leave out paper plates and cups. Problem solved!

That’s about all I can manage, I really don’t want to wake up in the morning with ‘qwerty’ embedded on my forehead because I fell asleep at the keyboard!

One last thing tho before I go, can I please (if I have not already) draw your attention to my new page entitled ‘Challenges’. On it you can find the most recent ones from Okay, What if?, Robs Surf  Report and also Steve’s Monday Music Challenge. Check them out and put in an entry, go on I dare ya!

Night night now :)

P.s The video at the top is The Crooked Kind by Radical Face. It’s my song of choice for this week. It’s been on repeat since I first heard it!

(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

Steve would welcome any suggestions for future questions!

For more information, to submit ideas for future questions or just general feedback go to Steve’s Monday Music Mix.

This weeks questions:

1. How do you feel right now? I feel better by Gotye – That’s actually a good song for me, the blues of post Christmas seem to have lifted a litte bit, so he’s right, I do feel better. It a nice wee feel good song too, so if you need cheered up check it out, sing along and dance like there is no tomorrow!

2. You will only make one New Years Resolution and it is…?Teardrop – Newton Faulkner cover – This is one of my favourite songs of all time. The original by Massive attached is the best version, but Newton here does a sterling job with his cover. Hopefully this means I am going to shed a few less Teardrops in 2014 :)

3. What do you think of this Steve’s Monday Music Mix? She’s a Rebel by Greenday – Oh I’m a rebel all right because I never do the challenge on the day I am supposed to, but as the man (some random man that is), better late than never, and Steve hasn’t shouted at me yet :)

There will be a new one up tomorrow so please feel free to join in!

Steve’s Monday Music Quiz – Week 9

SteveDJ

Here we go with Week 9 of Steve’s Monday (that I can never seem to do on the day I am supposed to) Music Quiz!

Here’s a refresher of the rules:

Each week Steve will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

Title your post “Steve’s Monday Music Mix – Week…” and link back to that week’s page.

And now to the questions:

1. Are you a good cleaner? – Waiting from the Film Soundtrack of Shopping – That’s kinda right, I do all the housework on a Saturday and in the morning I am usually hanging around waiting till the Mother Ship goes shopping so I can get peace to do it.

2. Do you hold grudges? – Madame Trudeaux – KT Tunstall – Well that’s a real head scratcher because for once I have no answer. That said the last verse from the song contains the lyrics “You’re a cold bird Madame Trudeaux”, so perhaps it’s her holds the grudges and not me!

3. A rock is thrown through your window with a note on it. It says… – Who needs information – Radio Kaos – Roger Waters – There has to be an easier way of obtaining information, than hefting a rock throw my window. May I suggest you try an Encyclopedia of some description, and have a healthy does of feck away off while you’re at it.

Steve’s Monday (that I’m doing on a Sunday) Mix – Week 7

SteveDJ
Music Stevie Styleee!

I know I’m late, but at least I’m not so late that the next weeks has been published and as someone obviously extremely smart and talented once said, ‘It’s better late than never!’

Ok, lets have a little refresher of the rules:

Each week Steve will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

Title your post “Steve’s Monday Music Mix – Week…” and link back to that week’s page.

Now for this weeks questions:

Is the grass greener on the other side?Walkie Talkie – Lady in the Water Soundtrack – If I’m on the other side of a 10ft wall then me thinks a walkie talkie is going to come in rather handy. If I’m on the other side after I have shuffled off this mortal coil, I’m going to wait till it’s pitch black, shout boo and scare the shit clean out of you all!

What will your famous last words be?Intro – Gorillaz – That would be just my luck, uttering my last words at the introduction to my fame.

What is your theme song? – Pax Deorum – Enya – Had to Google this, so according to Wikipedia Pax Deorum means ‘Peace of the Gods’, go figure I thought there was only one and to be fair he has helped give me peace on several occasions.

If you would like to play, then click on Steve’s picture above, but wait until tomorrow, because there will be a new one!

Steves Monday Music Mix – Week 6!

SteveDJ
Steve gets his funk on!

This week I thought I’d be a good girl (boo, hiss) and name the challenge what I’m suppsed to!

Wow! Week 6 already, how the time flies. The great Steve changed his pic, so of course I had to steal it, that’s him up above strutting his funky stuff. Click on the picture to be taken direct to the page for this weeks challenge!

So as always, lets start with the rules:

Each week Steve will post 3 new questions so…

(1) Go to the music player of your choice and put it on shuffle
(2) Say the questions aloud and press play
(3) Use the song title as your answers
(4) NO CHEATING

Now for this weeks questions:

What is your first thought on waking up? – You can read all about it – Emeli Sande – You know that’s pretty accurate, if I’ve written the night before, one of the first things I do is check to see if I have any e-mails, which hopefully means someone somewhere liked it. Secondly, if I don’t have to get out of bed just yet, I go straight to my reader and try and catch up on what the rest of you have been up to!

All your life you have wanted to tell someone what? – Lonely Road to Absolution – Billy Talent – Erm, if it’s all about the forgiveness, then yep I need to seek some of that, hey don’t judge, I never said I was always a good girl ;)

When you are angry, what do you scream? – All in my head – Kosheen – Yeah, I pretty much do keep it all in my head, sometimes though there is a little to much going on and that causes brain leakage, when that happens I usually shout feck rather loudly :)

This Weeks Questions (which I believe were posed by Anniemation Floe)

1. What would you do if you won the lottery – Settle by Two Door Cinema Club – That’s actually a pretty good response for me, because winning the lottery would help me settle. I could clear all my bills and not have to worry about the future.

2. If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be? – If time is all I have – James Blunt – It is one of the things I would change, I would aim to spend less time worrying and just get on with living!

3. Are you reliable? – Let your love walk in – Paloma Faith – Ummmm, yeah…although I have no idea how that song interprets it. Answers on a postcard please.

If you would like to join in on the Steve’s Music Mix you can read all about it here!
